Transportation Guide from Hong Kong to Long Chao Kok Coastal Trail in Macau

The fastest way to reach Coloane in Macau is by ferry. From Hong Kong Island's Sheung Wan Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal or Kowloon Tsim Sha Tsui China Ferry Terminal, take either "TurboJET" or "Cotai Water Jet" to Macau Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal. The ferry ride takes about 1 hour, with a one-way ticket for an economy seat costing HKD 175. Upon arrival, take a taxi from the terminal to Hac Sa Beach in Coloane (fare approximately MOP 150-200, 30-minute ride), or take the AP1X bus to Border Gate, then transfer to bus routes 15, 21A, or 26A to "Seac Pai Van Garden" stop, and walk 5 minutes to the trail entrance.

For budget travelers, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge route is a good option. First, take the MTR to Sunny Bay Station, transfer to the B5 bus to Hong Kong Port, and then take the shuttle bus across the bridge (HKD 65 during the day, HKD 115 at night). After arriving at Macau Port, transfer to the AP1X bus to Border Gate, then switch to bus route 15 to Hac Sa Beach stop, and walk 10 minutes to Long Chao Kok.

Upon arrival, you can choose a hiking route based on your preference: a relaxed 30-minute walk to check out the S-shaped road and Ting Hai Pavilion, a classic 1.5-hour stroll along the coastal boardwalk to admire Long Chao Rock, or an in-depth 5-hour trek through the Golden Statue Trail and Heart-shaped Tree Hole. Be sure to visit after 4 PM, bring water and snacks, wear non-slip shoes, and wait at Hac Sa Beach for sunset. Witness the golden hues of the evening sky spreading across the black sand beach, and experience the majestic "Dragon Claw Wave Watching" scenery.
