Located on Macau's main island, the Mandarin's House, built before 1869, is the former residence of Zheng Guanying, a renowned modern Chinese philosopher. Constructed primarily in Chinese style, it showcases a fusion of Eastern and Western influences throughout. Western and foreign influences can be seen in the roof, beam structure, diverse windows in the inner courtyard, and sliding doors. Walking through it feels like stepping back in time, reliving the glorious past.
Nearby are other World Heritage sites worth exploring: A-Ma Temple, Place de la Vie, the Port Authority Building, and the A-Ma Light Rail Transit System. There's an outdoor café in Place de la Vie where you can relax and enjoy excellent food and coffee. Shopping for cultural and creative goods and enjoying delicious Portuguese egg tarts is highly recommended!
Note that it's closed on Wednesdays! Don't miss out!
🕰️Opening Hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
