Introducing Tongchuan Botanical Garden

Tongchuan Botanical Garden, located at the intersection of Changfeng North Road and Xianfeng Road in the Tongchuan New District, formerly the Tongchuan City Center Nursery, covers 188 mu (approximately 1.5 acres). Construction began in December 2013, and the garden is expected to open as early as this year's National Day. The garden plans to cultivate over 500 plant species from 57 orders and 89 families. In addition to trees, shrubs, and herbs, the garden also features over a dozen aquatic plants, including water lilies, purple-leaved arundo, and cattails.

In addition to a large number of plants, Tongchuan Botanical Garden has also built many basic service facilities, such as pavilions, flower beds, lakes, landscape bridges, etc., to provide maximum convenience for citizens who come to visit.

The botanical garden will also showcase simulated natural landscapes and host research and utilization of domestic and international plant resources, the introduction, domestication, and cultivation of plants, and the selection and breeding of new plant varieties. During the construction of the Tongchuan Botanical Garden, the garden's plant configuration, based on an estimate of the carbon sequestration and oxygen release capacity of garden tree species, prioritized the selection of species with high carbon sequestration and oxygen release capabilities, and appropriately balanced shrubs and trees in the garden's green spaces, aiming to maximize their carbon sequestration and oxygen release capabilities and alleviate pollution in the city and surrounding areas.

After completion, Tongchuan Botanical Garden will become an important plant cultivation base, habitat display and experimental base, and ecological civilization education base in the Weibei area. It is a concrete manifestation of the results of Tongchuan's urban transformation and ecological construction, and is known as another beautiful business card for Tongchuan to build a leisure and health city.
