Huay Tung Tao Reservoir, Chiang Mai Province

Huay Tung Tao Reservoir features a sandy beach resembling a seaside, where visitors can enjoy swimming. There are rental services for inner tubes, paddle boats, and water bicycles. Additionally, the area offers restaurants and fishing huts near the dam.

This site is part of a model village project under royal initiative and has been developed into a tourist attraction within a military zone. The reservoir was constructed under the royal initiative of His Majesty the King to address water shortages for the military agricultural center and nearby residents. The highlight of this location is the stunning scenery of the vast reservoir, complemented by the sandy beach where everyone can swim. Affordable rental services for inner tubes, paddle boats, and water bicycles are available. For fishing enthusiasts, there are fishing huts near the dam. Visitors can also enjoy various outdoor activities such as tower jumping, game zones, paintball, ATV rides, and other recreational facilities around the reservoir.

Amenities include camping grounds, accommodations, and tent areas, along with numerous restaurants. Thai massage services are also available in designated huts to cater to tourists.

Location: Situated in Don Kaew Subdistrict, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province. To get there from the city center, start at the Chiang Mai 700-Year Sports Complex, follow the irrigation canal road past Nawamin School, Prosthetic Foundation, Department of Highways, Channel 5 TV Station, and Chiang Mai Land Development Station. Then, turn left across the irrigation canal bridge to reach Huay Tung Tao Reservoir. Entrance fee: 20 THB per person.
