Wat Ban Den, Sari Sri Muang Kan, a Beautiful Temple in Chiang Mai
Wat Ban Den, Sari Sri Muang Kan, also known as Wat Ban Den, is renowned for its Bodhi trees, known in the north as "Sali Trees." Furthermore, it is located within the ancient city of Muang Kan, hence the name:
Wat Den Sari Sri Muang Kan.
In 1894, the abbot, Kruba Tueng Nathasilo, renovated the temple with the intention of creating a beautiful religious site steeped in Buddhist principles. This was intended to attract visitors to the temple for spiritual purification, and to serve as a place of spiritual relaxation rather than religious ceremonies. It also serves as a place of worship for the 12 zodiac signs. The temple complex includes the ubosot (ordination hall), the scripture hall (scripture hall), the drum tower (wharf), the Inthakhil pillar (vihara), the golden teakwood Lanna-style hut (monastery), the vihara (wihan), and the stupa (chedi).
Address: Inthakhil Subdistrict, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province
