Tips: Reservations are required in advance, photography is prohibited, there are many steps which can easily cause altitude sickness, and it is recommended to visit in the morning.
Yamdrok Lake: One of the three holy lakes in Tibet, a plateau barrier lake shaped like a "coral branch." The lake water changes in blue-green with the light, and Yamdrok Lake can be overlooked from the Gampala Pass.
Namtso Lake: Saltwater lake (4,718m above sea level), the "Heavenly Lake" of Tibet, a sacred place in the hearts of Tibetans.
Jokhang Temple: The core of Tibetan Buddhism, the "center of the universe" for Tibetans, built under the auspices of Princess Wencheng.
It enshrines a life-size statue of the 12-year-old Sakyamuni!
