The City of Fruity Fragrance in Midsummer

In the cacophony of cicadas during this sweltering midsummer, I plunged headfirst into this city steeped in the aroma of fruits. Upon stepping into the Victoria International Hotel, the plush bed and cool breeze from the air conditioning gently eased the fatigue of the journey, making even my breaths feel lighter.
By day, the orchards were summer’s most generous gift—plump lychees hung like clusters of heavy rubies, their glossy allure swaying on the branches. Peeling back their slightly fuzzy shells revealed translucent flesh bursting with sweet juice in an instant. Nearby, the longan trees were even livelier, their round fruits clustered like golden pearls. Slipping the tender flesh into my mouth, the pure sweetness flowed down my throat and into my heart, carrying the sun-soaked flavor of summer.
As night fell, the night market became a stage for lively street food. Stalls brimming with snacks filled the air with enticing aromas—freshly sliced mangoes and pineapples offered a refreshing sweetness to beat the day’s heat. On sizzling grills, skewers of meat and vegetables glazed with sauce released mouthwatering steam, the rich scent of spices and charred goodness weaving through the air. Every bite was a taste of the city’s warmth and authentic flavors.
Here, from the fruity mornings to the smoky nights, every moment was filled with sweetness and savory delights. This midsummer journey has already become a sweet, fruity memory—one that belongs uniquely to summer.
