Traveling the Western Regions (88): Unveiling the Deman Highway, a breathtaking journey from Delingha, Qinghai to Maerkang, Sichuan via the expressway, crossing the cold zone of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau with an average altitude of over 4,000 meters, sparsely populated, mysterious and awe-inspiring.
On October 17, blessed by the heavens, the sun shone brightly all the way, the sky was clear blue, and white clouds floated gently.
The vast and deep blue Wintergecuona Lake adds charm to the plateau;
The 6,282-meter-high Anyemaqen Snow Mountain displays the majestic power of the plateau; golden alpine meadows, plateau wetlands, and rugged yet beautiful mountains of various colors... the scenery changes constantly, a continuous feast for the eyes, turning a highway drive into a scenic tour.
A slight regret is that no wild animals were seen.
The Deman Expressway is not necessarily a must-drive, but it is definitely worth a self-drive trip!
