The main reason for our trip to Tokyo this time was to see the Kawazu cherry blossoms, a deep pink variety that blooms only from February to early March. When we went, it was 5 days after the full bloom. This variety is quite hardy and can survive for 7-10 days after the full bloom.
The Kawazu cherry blossoms here are planted all over the hillsides, alternating with fields of bright yellow nanohana flowers. The garden has made a safe path under the cherry trees, so small children can come and visit. Most importantly, we had the chance to see Mt. Fuji on a clear day.
Event period: February 3 - March 3, 2024
Admission fee: 300 yen
