If you get off at Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, the best place to gather tourist information is the Matsumoto City Tourist Information Center in Matsumoto Station.

Inside, you can see that Matsumoto Castle is the symbol of the town, as it is displayed as a miniature.

In the window, there is a map of the Northern Alps called "View of the Northern Alps from the outskirts of Matsumoto City," so you can see at a glance which mountain you are looking at.

Inside the station, the wooden carved nameplate of the old Matsumoto Station is still on display, along with its history!
