[Mt. Norikura⛰️] Head to cool highlands in summer

It's too hot on the plains! So we headed to Norikura.
Starting this year, buses require reservations, so if you book in advance, the parking wars are greatly alleviated.
As soon as you get off the bus, you'll find yourself in a paradise in the sky.
Flower fields teeming with alpine plants, with Aleutiana japonica, Dicentra peregrinus, and Veratrum nigra in particular in full bloom.
Even in July, there's still snow, so I was surprised to see skiers and snowboarders ⛷️!
There are also several ponds, and their clarity is worth a visit.
Since we're above the tree line, the footing is rocky, but the route along the ridge to Kengamine offers spectacular views all the way.
We also stopped by Mt. Daikokudake, where we saw rare white Dicentra japonica and the spectacular Hotaka mountain range, so if you have the energy, it's definitely worth a visit!
On the way back, a stop at nearby Shirahone Onsen will help you soothe your fatigue ♨️.
