Dogo Onsen Annex Asuka-no-Yu is a 'new hot spring' with a bathhouse concept inspired by Asuka period architecture.
The building's concept incorporates Asuka period architectural styles, fitting for Japan's oldest hot spring, which is associated with legends and stories such as Prince Shotoku's visits and Empress Saimei's imperial visits. Like the main Dogo Onsen building, it offers a rare 'beauty bath' with natural hot spring water that is neither heated nor diluted.
Inside, you can enjoy a spacious public bath, an open-air bath not found in the main Dogo Onsen building, and a special bath that recreates the Yushinden, the imperial bath of the main Dogo Onsen building. You can also experience bathing in traditional yukata robes called 'Yucho.' Additionally, there is a large 60-tatami mat rest area, five private rest rooms, and a tea service that embodies the unique hospitality of Dogo Onsen.
