*️⃣ Matsuyama Castle is located on a steep hill in the center of Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, and is one of the best places to overlook the Seto Inland Sea and Matsuyama City. Matsuyama Castle was built between 1602 and 1628. Matsuyama Castle, Himeji Castle (a Japanese national treasure and World Cultural Heritage Site), and Wakayama Castle are known as the three great flat mountain castles in Japan.
*️⃣ Dogo Onsen is located in the castle town of Matsuyama City and has a history of 3,000 years. It is one of the three oldest hot springs in Japan (the other two are Arima Onsen and Shirahama Onsen). Built in 1894, the Dogo Onsen Main Building is a three-story castle-style wooden building with carved beams and painted pillars. It is the symbol of Dogo Onsen.
*️⃣ Uchiko Town in Ehime Prefecture is a town that retains the traditional Japanese style. Uchiko-za in the town is the only existing traditional Japanese theater in Ehime Prefecture for performing kabuki and other plays. There is also a temple in the town called Koshoji Temple, which has an impressive large reclining Buddha. The temple is located on a small hill in Uchiko Town, which is a great place to overlook the town.
*️⃣ Iyo Ozu is a castle town built in the inland basin of western Ehime Prefecture during the Edo period. The Hijikawa River flows through the basin. There are many historical sites in Ozu City, such as Ozu Castle and Garyu Sanso, making it a veritable "Little Kyoto of Iyo."
*️⃣ Shimonada Station is an unmanned station located in Iyo City, Ehime Prefecture. This small seaside station has been selected for the Seishun 18 poster three times. It is a great place to watch the sunset in the evening, attracting many railway fans and backpackers.
