The 51st temple of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, this temple is associated with Emon Saburo, who is said to be the root of the Shikoku Pilgrimage (^^)

Founded in 728 by Ochitamazumi, the Iyo Dairyo. The main hall, three-story pagoda, bell tower, five-ringed tower, Kariteimo Ten-do, goma hall, and temple bell are all important cultural properties (^^)
The Niomon Gate (national treasure), rebuilt in 1318, is a multi-story tower gate with beautiful frog-legs, and has winged corridors and balustrades on both sides.
The statues of Kongorikishi on the left and right of the Niomon Gate are said to be works of the Unkei school.
