Meishan is a hidden gem, and I didn't expect so many people on the weekend.
It's so popular, especially the evening show on Water Street. It felt like the whole city was there.
A 30-minute high-speed train ride takes you to this small city for a day of weekend fun.

💕What to do in Meishan for a day?

📍Sansu Temple:
👉Ticket: CNY 40 per person
👉Opening hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm daily (ticket sales and entry close at 5:30 pm)
Located in Dongpo District, Meishan City, it is the former residence of the famous Northern Song Dynasty writers Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Zhe. The temple houses many precious cultural relics and documents.

📍Dongpo Impression Water Street:
👉Ticket: Free
👉Show time: 7:15 pm to 9:15 pm
To promote the culture of the "Three Sus" (Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Zhe), the show starts at 7:30 pm.

👉Average cost: CNY 50+ (The three of us ordered a set meal for two, and it was too much to finish.)
👉The specialty is Dongpo Elbow, which is a mix of lean and fatty meat, but it has a strong ginger flavor. If you don't like ginger, try Dongpo Pork.
The cold noodles with shredded chicken are great, and my favorite is the lotus root and pork bone soup, which is tender and sweet.

⭐Travel tips:
①Sansu Temple is very photogenic, with a classic Chinese style. In June and July, you can take photos and taste lychees in the garden. I'll definitely come back next year.
②Get a spot on Water Street before the show starts, or you won't be able to see anything because there are too many people. If you can't see, there's a hidden third floor accessible by elevator from the basement commercial street, which is less crowded.
