📍 Destination: Melaka (Malacca), Malaysia
🗓 Best Time to Visit: November to March (cooler & drier)
💬 Vibe: A charming blend of history, culture, and riverside beauty!
✨ Highlights of My Melaka Adventure:
1. 🏰 Stepping into the Past at A Famosa & St. Paul’s Hill
Wandering through the ancient ruins of A Famosa fortress and climbing up St. Paul’s Hill was like a time machine back to the 1500s! The views over the city were gorgeous, and the old chapel had a peaceful, almost magical feel.
2. 🚲 Jonker Street – Culture, Crafts & Crazy Good Food
Jonker Street is a must-visit! By day, it’s full of antique shops, art, and charming cafés. By night, it transforms into a buzzing night market with street food, souvenirs, and live music. I devoured chicken rice balls, icy cendol, and crispy popiah!
3. 🚤 Melaka River Cruise – A Floating Fairytale
This was a surprise highlight! The riverbanks are lined with rainbow-colored buildings and vivid street art. At night, fairy lights reflected on the water—absolutely romantic and Insta-worthy.
4. 🕌 Cultures Collide in Harmony
I loved seeing temples, mosques, and churches all coexisting in this UNESCO Heritage city. The Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, Kampung Kling Mosque, and St. Francis Xavier Church are just minutes apart!
5. 🛍️ Quirky Museums & Local Finds
From the fun Upside Down House to the traditional Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, Melaka keeps things interesting. I picked up lovely handmade batik and tasty local snacks like pineapple tarts.
