If you are traveling to Kuala Lumpur, you might as well spend a day and a night in Malacca. Malacca is about a 2-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur and is the most historically significant ancient city in Malaysia. 600 years ago, Zheng He visited Malacca on six of his seven ocean voyages. Malacca then became a colony of Portugal, the Netherlands and Britain. The diverse history and culture has created a different old town in Malacca. The old town of Malacca is not too big and most of the attractions can be visited on foot. The must-see attractions include the Dutch Red House, Jonker Street, St. Paul's Church, etc. You can also stroll through the streets of the old town and admire the Nanyang-style terrace houses.
✅You can take bus No. 17 from Malacca Central Station to the old town, which costs RM1.5 per way and takes about 25 minutes
