Melaka's Hidden Culinary Gems @ Baba Kaya

#weekendgetaways

The best weekend getaway from Kuala Lumpur is definitely Melaka, which is just a 2-hour drive away.

Restaurant Baba Kaya is an amazing little cafe
offering a range of local Malaysian dishes. It's located in the city of Melaka by the riverside. One of the special things about this restaurant is the way to order the traditional Malaysian dessert, peanut pancake, which we call apam balik. Customers can put money in a nyonya basket outside the restaurant, which is then pulled up with a rope. After that, the apam balik will be placed into the basket and lowered down to the customer."

The next must try food is the traditional Malaysian breakfast set โ€“ toast bread with a half-boiled egg. They serve Kaya jam in three different colors, which is one of the signatures on their menu, but to me, the taste is not much different from normal Kaya.

You can pay a visit to their restaurant. It is the best place to have your brunch with a view of the Melaka Riverside.
