Pleasant Stay with Minor Adjustments

Back in 2023, I had breakfast at ibis Melaka and left satisfied, prompting me to choose it for my next visit. In September 2024, I stayed overnight at the hotel. While checking in, there were a few minor issues. Firstly, despite an Accor Platinum Plus upgrade, we received a room with a single bed when two separate beds were needed. The second room had a smell of smoke, requiring another change. At last, we found a standard room that was smoke-free and came with two beds — just what we were looking for. The room was cozy, featuring a handy desk for laptop work. The shower and toilet were separated by a wall instead of glass, making it more comfortable than some other ibis hotels. Breakfast somewhat lacked the charm of my last visit — noticeable, though not too disappointing. The laksa maintained its quality and is highly recommended. My friend, new to Malaysia, appreciated the flavors too — good quality, albeit not a “wow” experience. The hotel’s location is central and peaceful. Service was satisfactory, but I occasionally wished for more attentiveness — maybe my expectations were high for a hotel situated in Melaka’s heart. An idea would be to broaden the menu with more local foods. Baba Nyonya cuisine is a key reason for revisiting Melaka. On the whole, ibis Melaka offers convenience, functionality, and reliability — a great option for a stay downtown.
