| Encounter the rainforest and local culture. Still worried about where to go in Xishuangbanna? Save this niche and fun hiking route! Starting from Banyan Tree, the route passes through Mengbala International Tourist Resort and Menghai Memory Intangible Cultural Heritage Village, and finally arrives at Manban Village.
🏞️Route Planning
1. Banyan Tree (Starting Point): Get a good night's sleep at Banyan Tree first, and start your hiking warm-up on the trails around the hotel, breathing in the fresh rainforest air and feeling the gifts of nature🌳. If you're lucky, you might even encounter small squirrels!
2. Mengbala International Tourist Resort: Follow the winding mountain road into the resort. It is surrounded by 17,500 acres of pristine rainforest🌴. Stroll through it, encounter 32 natural lakes, and check in at the pink beach and the thousand-acre sea of flowers.
Those who like excitement must not miss the mountain off-road motorcycles and rainbow slides. When you are tired, go for a hot spring bath.
3. Menghai Memory Intangible Cultural Heritage Village: After leaving the resort, continue hiking, and you will soon reach the Intangible Cultural Heritage Village. Here, intangible cultural heritage skills such as Dai pottery, Dai paper, Beiye Sutra, and bamboo weaving are displayed, allowing you to understand Xishuangbanna's intangible cultural heritage in one stop. Walk into the "Handicraft Experience Area" and make Dai paper yourself to experience the charm of ancient craftsmanship.
4. Manban Village (Destination): Navigate to Manban Primary School, walk along the country road, and arrive at Manban Village, a place rated as a "Chinese Minority Characteristic Village" and full of strong Dai ethnic customs.
Uniform traditional Dai dwellings, clean and tidy village roads, and every household's courtyard is full of flowers and fruit trees🌳.
Walk up to the village, and there is a temple, just like the ones in Thailand.
⏰Hiking Time
The whole journey takes about 5 hours. It is recommended to depart from Banyan Tree after 9 am.
🎒Preparation Before Departure
1. Clothing: Quick-drying and breathable long-sleeved trousers and shirts to prevent mosquito bites and scratches from plants; high-top non-slip hiking shoes, as the rainforest and mountain roads are slippery, safety first; and bring a light waterproof jacket to cope with sudden rainfall🌧️.
2. Tools: Trekking poles to save effort and maintain balance; a waterproof backpack of about 20L to hold water, snacks, and small items; a headlamp or flashlight in case of walking at night; a compass and map (although there is navigation, just in case).
3. Other:
Sunscreen, sunglasses, wide-brimmed hat
Mosquito repellent, preferably containing DEET
Power bank
Energy bars, chocolate, and other small snacks, bring about 1L of drinking water!
