The little 'Rome' in Spanish land

Mérida, Spain, is the capital of Extremadura, located 337 kilometers west of Madrid, about a 3 and a half hour drive. The city of Mérida was established by Octavio Augusto in 25 BC and was one of the important city-states during the Roman rule of the Iberian Peninsula. In 1993, the ancient city was named a World Heritage City by UNESCO. Have you been there?
