Walking Through Ancient Echoes at Templo Mayor

#holidayitinerary Templo Mayor in the Centro Histórico of Mexico City is wild, like, you’re just walking around downtown and boom, ancient ruins right in the middle of all the chaos. It’s super cool to see the layers of history just sitting there next to the cathedral and modern buildings. You get a real sense of how deep the roots of this place go.

The site itself is way bigger than it looks from the street. There’s a path that lets you walk around the ruins and check out the foundations and structures that used to be part of the Aztec capital. Then there’s the museum, which is honestly worth the time, lots of artifacts, statues, and info that helps it all make sense.

You don’t need a guide but having one (or at least reading the signs) makes it way more interesting. It’s an easy stop if you’re already exploring the Zócalo. Super chill to wander, take pics, and soak in some old school history.
