Travelling out of Taipei City and your are a person who loves scenery, one place that is ideal especially if you want it to be abit more romantic you should head to old mountain line rail starting from Sheng Xing Station located at 367, Taiwan, Miaoli County, Sanyi Township.
This is where you will be able to get the ride tickets and also the very 1st start point. Although there are pedals, but generally you can don't use them as the trains are all powered electrically. All you have to do is to throttle them. Don't worry the max speed of these individual trains won't go more than 25km/hr. This is one of the best way to see miaoli country side, with lush greenery and a bridge where it suspended more than 50m high.
Upon reaching the end there are some shops there where they sell local Taiwanese snacks like the black nuts, and honestly the nuts there are the best! Oh also, rest assured you will be able to head back from where you came from.
