Hidden Retreat in the Forest: A Stay at "Zhuo Ye Cottage" in Miaoli

When it comes to Taiwan's hidden forest gems, Miaoli is undoubtedly a treasure trove. My recent stay at "Zhuo Ye Cottage" was one of the most memorable mountain accommodations I've experienced in years. Unlike conventional hotels, this place perfectly embodies the concept of "returning to nature," offering relaxation without compromise and seamlessly blending rustic charm with refined aesthetics.

🛖 Location and Transportation
Zhuo Ye Cottage is located in Sanyi, Miaoli, about a 10-15 minute drive from Sanyi's downtown area. Driving is the most convenient way to get there—simply set your GPS to "Zhuo Ye Cottage" and you'll arrive easily. The journey takes you through winding mountain roads, and the deeper you go, the more you feel like you're escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The cottages are scattered across a lush green area, each with its own private space, ensuring guests enjoy a sense of seclusion as if surrounded by the forest.

🌐 Transparent Glass Dome Room Features
I stayed in the "Starry Glass Dome Room," a large transparent sphere made of high-strength acrylic and supported by metal frames. Inside, you'll find a cozy double bed, air conditioning for both heating and cooling, a small coffee table, and a reading lamp. Though compact, the room is fully equipped.

🛏️ Highlights of the Room:
- 270-degree panoramic view: Surrounded by forest during the day and sleeping under the stars at night.
- Private bathroom facilities: Located in a small cabin next to the glass dome, clean and discreet.
- Outdoor private terrace: Equipped with lounge chairs and ambient lighting, perfect for stargazing and tea-drinking at night.
- At night, the dome lights up like a glowing planet, creating a romantic ambiance that makes you reluctant to sleep.

🌲 Peaceful Moments with Nature
During the day, I laid out a picnic mat on the grass, quietly watching the wind rustle the leaves and sunlight filter through the glass onto my skin. At night, I snuggled into bed, gazing at the starry sky and falling asleep to the sounds of chirping insects and birds. There’s no TV, no noise—just the pure, authentic sounds of nature.

For me, this was more than just a stay; it was a "sensory reset" ritual.

💬 Summary of My Stay
The glass dome at Zhuo Ye Cottage is truly the most dreamy "one-night" experience I've ever had. Unlike luxurious hotels, this place offers a warmth and connection to nature that is unparalleled.

✅ Recommended for:
- Couples celebrating Valentine's Day or anniversaries—romance guaranteed.
- Social media influencers or photography enthusiasts—it's picture-perfect from day to night.
- Anyone seeking solitude and healing—this is the ultimate place to unwind.
⭐ My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars + 🌟!
📸 Tip: While phone cameras capture great shots, bringing a camera and tripod will elevate your night photography to the next level.

📌 Note:
The glass dome's soundproofing isn’t as strong as traditional buildings, so it’s best to rest early or bring earplugs/headphones just in case. However, falling asleep to the sounds of nature is arguably the most beautiful part of this experience.
