Yunnan Honghe hides a "Red Brick Magic Town"! Mile Dongfengyun is so beautiful I want to live there forever

【🔥Yunnan's Private Treasure! This red brick "Little Gaudí" town is breathtakingly beautiful, a must-visit for photo fanatics!】

Ladies! Recently discovered a lesser-known small city in Yunnan—Mile! Not the Maitreya Buddha Mile (though there really is a Buddha statue), but the "Red Brick Magic Town" hidden in Honghe Prefecture! It’s not crowded like Dali or Lijiang, yet it hides a red brick architectural complex more dreamy than Santorini, and every snap looks like an Instagram masterpiece! The best part—few people! Beautiful scenery! Low cost! This travel blogger personally tested it for 3 days and 2 nights and was instantly smitten, wanting to settle down!

🌆 First encounter with Dongfengyun: The "Oriental Gaudí" in red bricks

A 20-minute drive from Mile city center, passing through a vineyard (yes! This is also Yunnan’s wine country!), suddenly a cluster of red brick castles comes into view—this is Dongfengyun Art Town!

The whole area seems enchanted: the Kaleidoscope Art Museum looks like stacked wine bottles, the Half Cloud Art Museum resembles a cloud drifting from the sky, the Seal House looks like giant seals scattered on the grass... The most amazing thing is all buildings are made only of red bricks and cement, without a single steel bar! Designer Luo Xu said the inspiration came from Mile’s "Buddha’s hand" and "wine culture," but to me, it’s clearly Gaudí possessed! Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia is a stone fairy tale; here, the red brick castles are an oriental fantasy dream!

📸 The ultimate paradise for photo fanatics

1. Kaleidoscope Art Museum: The light and shadow magician

From 4 to 6 pm, the sunset shines through the red brick gaps into the "wine bottle" interior, light and shadow dance on the curved walls, perfect for silhouette shots! Recommended to wear a white long dress and a straw hat, stand sideways under the arch, and have a friend shoot from the second floor for maximum atmosphere!

2. Half Cloud Art Museum: The fairy in the clouds

This pure white streamlined building looks like a cloud blown by the wind, with no columns inside! Sitting on the steps shooting upward or shooting from the second-floor terrace can capture the ethereal feeling of "walking on clouds."

3. Vineyard + Hot Air Balloon: French countryside style

Outside the scenic area is a large vineyard. In September and October when grapes ripen, wear a floral dress and carry a straw bag, stand under the grape trellis for a "French girl" vibe; if you catch a hot air balloon launch (advance booking required), with the red brick castles and blue sky as background, it instantly turns into Turkey’s Cappadocia!

🏨 Stay in a red brick castle: Double romance of sunset and morning mist

Highly recommend staying at Mile Dongfengyun Meijingge Select Hotel inside the scenic area! The hotel itself is a work of art—23 red brick buildings surround a central pool, each building named after "Wind," "Flower," "Snow," and "Moon." The room terraces face the kaleidoscope, and at night lying in bed watching the red bricks glow warmly under the moonlight feels like sleeping in a fairy tale.

💡 Hidden experiences:

• After 6 pm when visitors leave, you can have the entire scenic area to yourself! Stand in front of the kaleidoscope watching the sunset dye the red bricks orange-red, switch your phone to "portrait mode" for cinematic shots.

• At 7 am when the mist hasn’t cleared, wear a light jacket and stroll through the vineyard, listen to birdsong and watch the morning light, so quiet you can hear your own heartbeat.

⚠️ Pitfall reminder:

The hotel facilities are a bit old (for example, the bathtub edges have some mold), but the service is super attentive! The shuttle runs 24/7 on call, only 3 minutes from the hotel to the scenic area entrance, no need to walk at all!

🚗 Transportation + Food: A blessing for the lazy

• Transportation: Take the high-speed train from Kunming South Station to Mile Station in 30 minutes, taxi to the scenic area costs 15 yuan; driving is even more convenient, free parking at the scenic area.

• Food: The "Half Cloud Restaurant" inside the scenic area serves an amazing rose roasted milk! In the city, try "Old Mile Traditional Snacks"—braised chicken rice noodles + fried potatoes + papaya water, all for 15 yuan to fill you up!

📍 Address: Inside Dongfengyun Town, Grape Sightseeing Avenue, Mile City, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province

🎫 Tickets: 60 yuan (free if staying at the hotel), sightseeing bus 20 yuan (recommended to buy, the scenic area is huge!)
