Located in Minamiashigara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Sunset Falls is a beautiful 23-meter waterfall known as the site of the Kintaro legend. Easily accessible from the city center, its tranquil setting, surrounded by pure water and trees, makes it a spiritual spot where you can truly reset your mind and body. One of the attractions of this waterfall is the opportunity to experience "takigyo" (waterfall training). Numerous celebrities, including Sanma Akashiya, Takuya Kimura, and Tetsuro Degawa, are said to have purified their bodies and minds here, making it a highly popular training ground. Even beginners can try waterfall training with peace of mind, as special training attire and support are provided. It's also a recommended family spot in the summer, where you can enjoy river activities, camping, and barbecues. Nearby, there's a waterfall-viewing bridge and promenade, where you can feel the changing seasons while surrounded by negative ions. There's also a barbecue facility, so you can enjoy a luxurious time interacting with nature, whether you're visiting for the day or overnight. Visiting around the winter solstice, when you can watch the sunset over the falls, is a recommended experience. Experience the power of the waterfall and the healing power of nature all at once. This truly is a place you'll be called to.
✅ Reservations are required for waterfall training. Reservations are already nearly full on summer weekends.
