Kurokawa Onsen in Aso Prefecture truly lives up to its reputation as the hot spring haven of Kyushu, boasting unique charm and characteristics. We stayed at the Roku Ryokan, located in the secluded corner of Minamioguni Town, nestled deep in the mountains. The winding roads led us to a picturesque retreat. The streets are lined with small shops, including hot spring inns, onsen spots, Japanese-style bakeries, and souvenir stores.
We booked a one-night stay with two meals. The room featured traditional Japanese tatami flooring. For dinner, we enjoyed Kumamoto horse sashimi and Aso grilled beef, while breakfast was a traditional Japanese meal. It was a delightful experience, and we look forward to visiting again. Siri.
