A Journey Through Mingshui Ancient City

During a previous visit to Mingshui Ancient City in Zhangqiu District, Jinan, I was enchanted by its rich history and vibrant attractions. Officially known as Mingshui Ancient City International Spring Water Tourist Resort, it began its trial operations on October 1, 2023.

For a 68 RMB ticket, we explored the Meng Family Mansion, the residence of Mencius' descendants, with its captivating opera performances. Li Qingzhao's Former Residence, with numerous impressive spring wells and water-soaked steps, was a highlight. Mingshui Street, with its vibrant Jiangnan atmosphere, offered a rich cultural experience and a variety of street foods.

The town featured numerous performances throughout the day and night, adding to the cultural charm. Checking the weather forecast beforehand ensured we made the most of our visit. Mingshui Ancient City’s blend of history, culture, and natural beauty made it a memorable trip.
