Lake Xingkai is located more than 30 kilometers east of Mishan City in Heilongjiang Province, China. It is a border lake shared by China and Russia, consisting of two lakes, Greater Xingkai Lake and Lesser Xingkai Lake, each with distinct landscapes. It is the largest lake in the Heilongjiang River basin.
Lake Xingkai is a tectonic lake formed by crustal subsidence during orogeny, generally oval-shaped, wider in the north and narrower in the south, covering an area of 483 square kilometers. In late autumn, the lake and mountain scenery are picturesque, and in winter, you can enjoy the spectacular rime ice, as if entering a fairy tale world. Spring is an important migration route for migratory birds, with hundreds of thousands stopping here annually, earning it the reputation of a bird paradise.
Dangbi Town Scenic Area is a national 4A-level scenic spot located in the western tourism area of Lake Xingkai, about 40 kilometers from Mishan, adjacent to the Mishan border port, offering distant views of the vast lake. The central tourism area of Lake Xingkai is divided into three main sections, with the central scenic area covering 1.98 square kilometers as the core sightseeing zone.
The period from May to the Mid-Autumn Festival is the golden season for visiting Lake Xingkai, with pleasant weather suitable for outdoor activities.
