Xingkai Lake (Heilongjiang Jixi)

Xingkai, in Manchu language, originally an inland lake in China, became a Sino-Russian border lake after the signing of the Treaty of Beijing in 1860. It is located in the southeastern part of Heilongjiang Province, in Mishan City of Heilongjiang Province. It is 35 kilometers away from Mishan City, with one third of its area in the north belonging to China and the southern part to Russia. Lake Xingkai is over 100 kilometers long from north to south and over 60 kilometers wide from east to west, covering an area of 4,380 square kilometers. The lake surface is at an elevation of 69 meters, with the deepest point being 10 meters, and the total water storage is approximately 240 to 260 billion cubic meters;
