[Okayama Prefecture] Enjoy the mysterious floating sensation at the Nagi Museum of Contemporary Art

Nagi Town in eastern Okayama Prefecture

Further back in a quiet residential area, there is the Nagi Town Museum of Contemporary Art, with its beautiful green grass

The museum itself is quite small, but the exhibits are quite unique

The themes are the following three:

・The Sun - A place of omnipresence, Nagi's Ryoanji Temple, and the architectural body

・The Moon - HISASHI - An addendum

・The Earth - Utsurohi - A moment of movement

The particularly popular "Sun" room is at the top of a thin, black, cylindrical staircase

In the cylindrical, tilted space (which looks like a silver drum can lying on its side from the outside),

Ryoanji's rock garden is arranged on both walls, and there is a seesaw on the ceiling

The south-facing front is dazzling, and it is said to show a pattern of Onmyodo (the Tai Chi diagram)

It was an indescribable floating feeling, or a sense of balance being disturbed, a feeling I had never experienced before

The "Moon" room is a simple, pure white space with a narrow back

This place also has a slightly sense of balance It was a unique space that seemed to be moving.

The "Earth" installation was installed in the courtyard of the passageway leading from the entrance to the "Moon" and "Sun". A large arc of wire was stretched over the water basin and gravel. The theme of "Change" was from light to dark. I felt a sense of "Ah, I see," as the wind and air flow and the movement of the water basin moved.

Regardless of whether I was able to grasp each theme, I thought it was a genuinely interesting installation.

Also, it was definitely less crowded on weekdays! There were quite a few times when it was reserved for private use.
The parking lot is also large, so I recommend it.
