Nagoya Castle is a castle located in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It served as the residence of the Owari Domain during the Edo Period and is also known as the "Golden Castle" and the "Golden Turtle Castle." Along with Osaka Castle and Kumamoto Castle, it is considered one of Japan's three most famous castles.
Nagoya Castle was built by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1612. It suffered damage during World War II, and the remaining structures were restored in 1959. While its original appearance has been lost, the castle's grandeur remains. Furthermore, the over 2,000 cherry trees within its walls create a breathtaking spectacle, cloaking the buildings in a blanket of pink smoke during bloom. #Nagoya #NagoyaCastle
