Introducing Anhui Hongshixia

Hongshixia is located in Dahengshan, Mingguang, Anhui. The Danxia landform of Hongshixia is a landscape system composed of steep cliffs, red rocks, dense and deep canyons, and is widely covered by natural forests.

The Danxia landform is rare in East China and unique in Anhui. The entire landscape is diverse in shape and ochre-red in color. Its structure is neither soil, sand, nor rock, but seemingly a combination of both. Some areas, battered by years of wind and sun, appear hardened and creaky when tapped; others have been carved into the shapes of objects by the chisel of time. The higher you climb, the softer the ravine walls become.

Every time a flash flood hits, the mountain will continue to collapse and peel off, causing the " Red Sand Ditch " to extend forward and upward. The other side of the hillside is stripped of all vegetation, revealing the crimson mountain, full of wildness and ruggedness.
