We spent a relaxing weekend exploring the Shikemichi district in Nagoya — a charming area that still preserves the atmosphere of its Edo-period merchant town days. The narrow cobblestone streets, traditional wooden houses, and quiet alleys create a nostalgic yet timeless mood.

One highlight of our visit was the Nakamura Residence, a beautifully maintained example of the old merchant homes that once flourished here. Walking through the area, you can almost imagine what life must have been like centuries ago — bustling with trade, yet peaceful and refined.

It’s a perfect spot for those who love history, architecture, and slow strolls through local culture.
