[Golden Shichi] are the golden beasts that sit high on both ends of the roof of Nagoya Castle’s main castle tower and are the symbol of Nagoya Castle. The [Golden Sagittarius], with its tiger head, fish body, and upward tail fin, was originally a mythical beast in myths and legends. Legend has it that the Golden Sagittarius will spray water to extinguish fires when a building catches fire, so it has become the patron saint of buildings, residences, and temples. , Jin Shi can be seen in the city. Because there were many regulations for city building in ancient times, Nagoya Castle is one of the few cities with golden oars, which makes it even more precious. During the construction of the city, 1940 Edo gold coins were used to create this pair of golden owl, which is about 2.74m high. It was later recast three times due to financial difficulties, causing the pure gold content to gradually decrease. Later, the Nagoya air raid was destroyed in the Second World War. The Oihachi capital was burned down, and the current Nagoya Castle was rebuilt in Showa 34. Today, [Kin Shichi] has become Nagoya’s auspicious and protective mascot, appearing on packaging, signboards, and products, protecting the city in another way.
