[Naha City] Okinawan restaurant where you can enjoy fresh ingredients🍱

"Fukuya" is quietly nestled in a residential area of Shuri.
The restaurant is housed in a renovated old-style building, and the greenery surrounding the gate creates a lovely atmosphere. 🌳
You have to take your shoes off before entering the restaurant.
The gentle and calming service gave me a relaxing feeling, like I was visiting someone's home.

The set menu is what I'd recommend here.
All of their traditional Okinawan dishes are carefully prepared with carefully selected ingredients and not too strong in flavor.
The simple yet gentle dishes were very comforting. ✨

This time, I ordered the Mujinu-jiru set meal!
Mujinu-jiru is a miso soup made with taro stems and fruit simmered with pork and tofu. It's packed with ingredients. ◎
The set meal also comes with a variety of small side dishes, including vinegared mozuku seaweed, jimami tofu, and duruten (taro tempura), all of which are delicious! For around 1,500 yen, you can enjoy all this flavor, which is great value for money and very satisfying! 😉
My companion ordered yushi tofu, which also seemed delicious!

It's located just north of Shuri Castle, so I recommend combining a visit with a tour of Shuri. 🙋‍♂️
However, since it's a popular restaurant and seating is limited, it's best to plan your visit around opening time.
