The first multipurpose cultural facility in Okinawa that combines the functions of a museum and an art museum
It is said to be modeled after the Chinese elm tree, and the large pillars that stand up to the high ceiling inside the building
look just like trees
The exterior is modeled after Okinawa's gusuku (castles), and combines modern design
The passage next to the entrance? When the weather is nice, the light shines through in a lattice pattern, casting shadows on the floor, which is even more beautiful. Apparently Ryukyu limestone is used for this.
The building itself is beautiful, but inside the museum you can see and learn about Okinawa's nature, history, culture, art, and more. ππ
It's in Naha city, so it's relatively easy to access, and DFS Galleria is nearby, so it's recommended to visit both.
I didn't stop by this time, but there's also a cafe inside the museum. βοΈπ π π π π π π π π π π π π π π π π π π πππππππFrom the official websiteTuesday to Thursday, Sunday 09:00-18:00 (last entry 17:30)Friday, Saturday 09:00-20:00 (last entry 19:30)Closed on Mondays
