🎈Korat City Pillar Shrine: Inside the shrine, you'll find the Korat City Pillar, located next to Wat Phra Narai Maharat. It's believed to have been built during the reign of King Narai the Great. Later, in 1826, the King of the Lan Xang Kingdom of Vientiane seized Korat and destroyed the pillar. The current City Pillar Shrine, which we can see today, was rebuilt in 1963. The deity Ah Kong is enshrined here to protect the city pillar, in keeping with Chinese beliefs. If you're visiting Korat, come pay your respects and make a wish.
