📷 Recommended Check-ins
🌟 Rottnest Island, the Smiling Quokka Island
Take the ferry to the island (recommended from Fremantle, round trip about 70 AUD), see the adorable Quokka short-tailed wallabies, rent a bike to circle the island (30 AUD/day) or take the island shuttle bus (20 AUD/day), go lobster fishing + enjoy a lobster feast (one lobster per person, super awesome!)
.
🌟 Lancelin Sandboarding + Pinnacles Desert
Lancelin has the largest sand dunes in Western Australia, sandboarding is free
Pinnacles are millions of years old seabed shell deposits, the strange stone formations look like Martian terrain, best to visit at dusk for the most beautiful light and shadow, entrance fee 13 AUD per car
.
🌟 Pink Lake (Hutt Lagoon)
Recommended to drone shoot or take a helicopter tour ($230/person) to overlook, the lake water turns pink due to β-carotene produced by microorganisms, the ground is salt, crunching underfoot! No supplies nearby, remember to bring food for a picnic!
* Best viewing season: September to November
.
🌟 Kalbarri National Park
Hike 30 minutes to Nature’s Window (remember to wear sports shoes), entrance fee about 12 AUD per car, very sunny in summer! Be sure to apply sunscreen!
.
🌟 Shell Beach & Eagle Bluff
Shell Beach is a white beach made entirely of shells, one of only two in the world
Eagle Bluff cliff overlooks clear seawater, sometimes you can see sea turtles 🐢
.
🌟 Francois Peron National Park 4WD Adventure
Requires a 4WD vehicle, recommended to rent a professional off-road car
The visual impact of red earth + blue sea is especially suitable for aerial photography!
Rich in wildlife, you can also soak in red mud hot springs!
.
🔍 Practical Tips:
1️⃣ Book ferry tickets and sea tours in advance!
2️⃣ Signal is unstable throughout, download Google Maps offline packages in advance
3️⃣ UV rays in Western Australia are extremely strong, sunglasses + sunscreen are essential
4️⃣ Best photo time at Pink Lake is around 10 AM or during soft light at dusk
