Chairman of the Republic of China, Tomb of Tan Yankai

Location: Northeast of Linggu Temple outside Zhongshan Gate, Xuanwu District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province

Introduction: Completed in December 1932. Its design breaks away from the usual symmetrical and stylized layout of mausoleums. Tan Yankai's tomb makes full use of the natural conditions of beautiful springs and rocks and deep and beautiful woods and valleys. It is built against the mountain into a winding and deep tomb passage and cleverly arranged into a garden-style cemetery, which is very distinctive in the history of mausoleum architecture.

Opening hours: February to November: 06:30--18:30; December to January: 07:00--17:30

Thoughts: Tan Yankai was one of the famous figures in the Republic of China and also served as head of state. His tomb also has its own characteristics, and is located in the Linggu Scenic Area, so it can be visited together with other attractions.
