Qingxiu Mountain in Nanning—A Natural Oxygen Bar Hidden in Nanning

Nanning Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area is located at No. 6 Fengling South Road, Qingxiu District, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It stretches west to Qingshan Road, north to the ASEAN Business District, and is bordered by the Yong River to the south and east. The planned protected area covers 13.54 square kilometers, with a core scenic area of 5.86 square kilometers.
Qingxiu Mountain Tourist Scenic Area integrates tourism sightseeing, leisure and entertainment, cultural exchange, and scientific research and popular science. The reconstruction of Nanning Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area began in 1986, and it officially opened in October 1987. The area is planned as "Four Zones and One Park." Major attractions include the Millennium Cycad Garden, Orchid Garden, Cherry Blossom Garden, Rainforest Panorama, and the Anti-Japanese Student Army Memorial. As of 2015, the scenic area hosts a total of 6,128 plant species belonging to 235 families and 1,283 genera, including 202 species of ferns from 30 families and 79 genera; 68 species of gymnosperms from 11 families and 22 genera; and 5,858 species of angiosperms from 194 families and 1,182 genera. There are 232 nationally rare and endangered key protected plants, including 92 first-level key protected plants and 140 second-level key protected plants.
In 1989, Nanning Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area was designated as an autonomous region-level scenic spot. In April 2013, Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area was awarded the National Greening Model Unit. On December 18, 2014, Nanning Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area was officially rated as a National 5A-level Tourist Attraction.
