Besides the famous Komijitsu Temple, the area is also dotted with numerous other temples, each with its own expansive grounds.

When I visited, Kodaiji Temple was undergoing renovations, so I only saw the exterior.

Kodaiji Temple (高台寺, Kōdaiji) is a prominent temple in Kyoto's Higashiyama district. It was founded in 1606 to commemorate Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a prominent figure in Japanese history, by Hideyoshi's wife, Nene.

The temple is famous for its beautiful garden.
