Nantong | Former Residence of the Fan Family Literary Dynasty
This historical building in Nantong is officially labeled as Fan Dangshi's Former Residence (Figure 3). Excerpt from online sources: Located at No. 123 Temple Street, it is the ancestral home of the Fan family, renowned for thirteen generations of poetic heritage with classical poetry passed down through each generation. According to ancient records, the Nantong Fan family are direct descendants of Fan Zhongyan. Originally from Suzhou, the family dispersed due to war, with one branch relocating to Nantong, becoming the founding ancestors of the Tongzhou Fan lineage. Their descendants, all residing in Nantong, have produced numerous talents, establishing the family as one of Nantong's most prominent literary dynasties.
