Opportunity to enjoy views of Yushan Peaks without prior application—Lulin Mountain.

Located in Xinyi Township, Nantou County, Lulin Mountain stands at an elevation of 2,881 meters. The Lulin Mountain Trail spans approximately 5.5 kilometers, with most of the path shaded by trees, making it an easy and pleasant hike that can be completed in about two hours. Along the way, you can visit attractions like Lulin Mountain Lodge and Lulin Cabin. Lulin Mountain is an ideal spot for admiring sea clouds, cloud waterfalls, sunsets, and starry skies.

The Lulin Mountain Trail is part of the Tataka Recreation Area trails within Yushan National Park and is a section of the Lulin Nature Park. As you hike, you'll be captivated by the breathtaking views of Lulin's sea clouds, eventually reaching Lulin Mountain Lodge. Originally built in 1926 during the Japanese colonial period, the lodge was later restored and now serves as the management station for Lulin Mountain.

The trail mostly winds through pine needle-covered paths and green tunnels formed by arrow bamboo forests, offering a cool and comfortable hiking experience. Before reaching the summit, there are several depressions that collect water during the rainy season, often attracting wildlife. Recently, due to frequent rains, a small pond has formed, creating stunning reflections that are perfect for photography. Depending on the season, the trail offers diverse landscapes and flora, ensuring that every visit is filled with surprises and never dull!
