Revelation Xuanki Temple

Revelation Xuanki Temple in Yuchi Township, Nantou, is a truly unique temple in Taiwan. It is the only temple in the country dedicated to Zhuge Liang, also known as Kongming, earning it the affectionate nickname "Kongming Temple."

The temple's origins date back to 1901, and it was rebuilt and officially named "Revelation Xuanki Temple" in 1979. The most striking feature here is the 36-foot-tall (approximately 30 meters) statue of Zhuge Liang standing in front of the temple. He holds a feather fan in his right hand and a scroll in his left, exuding an imposing presence. Inside the temple, in addition to Zhuge Liang as the main deity, the Xuantian God is also worshiped, while the second floor is dedicated to Guan Sheng Dijun (Lord Guan).

One of the temple's most renowned features is its "Wisdom Blessing" service, where visitors come to pray for clearer thinking, academic success, or career advancement.

Additionally, the temple grounds feature a sculpture depicting the "Three Visits to the Thatched Cottage" scene. With its serene environment, surrounded by mountains and facing a lake, it is a destination well worth visiting. If you're planning a trip around Sun Moon Lake, this is a perfect spot to experience both historical culture and spiritual tranquility.
