Tadao Ando Pavilion - Finding the important directions and memories of Mr. Ando's design of Naoshima

The ANDO MUSEUM is located in the Naoshima Honmura area of Kagawa Prefecture. It is an exhibition hall converted from a century-old wooden house by architect Tadao Ando.
The exterior of the house is made of traditional wood, but the interior is transformed into Ando-style exposed concrete walls, which makes the old house composed of wooden beams full of vitality and forms a strong contrast.
The museum displays Tadao Ando's activities, as well as photos, drawing manuscripts, and architectural models of his architectural designs on Naoshima, and has relevant information introducing the history of Naoshima.
Although the Tadao Ando Museum is not large in area, it demonstrates the direction that Mr. Ando took when designing Naoshima and is an important memory of Naoshima becoming an island of art.
