Kikinomori (키키노모리) Nara, Japan Cafe Review 🍃

Located in a quiet alley near Nara Park, this cafe exudes a uniquely Japanese minimalist sensibility from its exterior. The well-maintained plants and trees in front of the cafe create a feeling of being tucked away in nature. While the interior doesn't offer much seating, the space feels spacious, with ample lighting and a warm wooden interior. The garden view from the window seats was particularly impressive, and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing, even for solo visitors. 🌿

The drinks were generally clean and refreshing, with a well-chosen selection of matcha and seasonal drinks in addition to coffee. My latte had a smooth balance of milk and espresso, and the dense foam maintained its consistency even as it cooled. While the dessert selection wasn't extensive, the homemade cakes were neatly presented, and their moderate sweetness paired well with the coffee. ☕🍰

Overall, it was a relaxing cafe perfect for a short break during your Nara trip. Located a bit away from the touristy city center, this is a great place for a quiet stay. It's perfect for solo reading, or for couples or groups of friends, and the atmosphere is relaxing.
