Kikinomori (ききのもり) Nara, Japan Cafe Review 🇯🇵☕️
Located in a quiet alley near Nara Park, this cafe's tucked-away-in-the-woods atmosphere was striking. While the exterior retains the structure of a traditional Japanese house, the interior's simple wooden interior creates a natural, warm atmosphere. Window seats offer garden views, making the atmosphere especially beautiful during sunny days. It's a comfortable space for solo visitors, perfect for reading or simply relaxing. 📖🌿
Beverages include a variety of hand-drip coffee and teas, while desserts feature homemade cakes and cookies made with seasonal ingredients. I ordered a matcha cake and a latte, which were not overly sweet and overall refreshing. The coffee's acidity was also mild, making it a pleasant and enjoyable experience for everyone. The ceramic design of the dessert plates and cups was also refined, reflecting a distinctly Japanese aesthetic. 🍵🍰
The staff were quiet but friendly, and the cafe had a relaxed atmosphere with ample space between customers. Because there weren't many foreign tourists, I was able to experience a truly authentic local atmosphere, and it was a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Nara City for a short break. The cafe's signature calming atmosphere and woody scent lingered for a long time. 🌸
