Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, located in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan, is a large temple of the Chizan school of Shingon Buddhism with a history exceeding a thousand years. Founded in 940 AD, it is dedicated to the deity Acala. The temple grounds are vast, housing the main hall, a three-story pagoda, the Komyodo Hall, and numerous cultural relics, retaining a rich Edo-period charm. Shinshoji Temple is a renowned site of prayer in the Kanto region, attracting large numbers of worshippers each New Year for their "Hatsumode" (first ceremony). The main approach to the temple is lined with traditional shops and restaurants, offering delicacies such as eel rice and Japanese confectionery, making the visit a cultural and culinary experience.
