Shimendong / Shimen Cave

Shimendong is a sea cave on the Northwest coast of of Taiwan. It is actually not a cave, rather a stone arch formed by erosion. It is just next to the highway, looking out to the ocean. It was low tide when we arrived and relatively cloudy so the view wasn’t as nice as seen on the net.

There are stairs for your to walk across the arch but we did not do so. We did not spend too much time there since there wasn’t much to do but you can spend some time there watching sunset.

Getting there: Bus / taxi.
Entrance fee: FOC
